Freedom Call In Tribute to Ukraine and other Repressed Regimes all over the Globe

Rain razors the sky with strips of metal grey
And a million sorrows are lost in a hundred yesterdays
Your face it bleeds for democracy
And bullets burn with intensity
A hunk of brain
A collage of limbs
The tears of children hold our sins
Innocence lost in a battle for oil
And rotting corpses redden the soil
A widow's cries mask the pain
Of slaughter for greed and corporate shame

Trash City Blues

Elegant thugs and Escort Girls
With boudoir secrets to tell the world
Celebrity sleaze and corporate greed
Sold for 6 figures to a magazine
Designer Labels and fastfood on sale
Grab a life from a bargain rail
A chemical peel or Lipo plan
You need wrinkle cream and a Perma Tan
Chop out the coupons for meat and greens
While hemmoraging credit for a plasma screen
Guys standing in line
Begging for overtime
Trying to save nickles and dimes
Foreclosure and debt killed the American dream
The heart of a nation ripped at the seams
Breaking news is  about a starlet's shoes
While hospitals close and there's queues for food
Is this the crown of democracy
Global hunger and mass illiteracy
Barbie doll smiles
And Promax Highs
Admen selling consumers bile
Adult chat rooms and cyber shocks
Mortgage your home to buy a wedding  frock
Stealing shoes on London streets
Protest your innocence on CCTv
It's a tapestry of hate; a canvas that bleeds
What the hell happened to society

B Side

Throw the day away
Soured with Gin
And ash stained laughs
Caught in the alley way of a cut and paste hook up
Your poet's eye cut her to size
A plateau of stale tomorrows
Lie stacked in the basement of his mind
The gilded key to the future
A fitting coda to the Dream of Freedom
When will she be more than  just another ?
