Our 5th Year Poetry Festival in Manhattan!
Help showcase the poetic talents of our community on (Saturday September 19th)! We normally would invite you to come out to the beautiful Jackie Robinson Park, however due to an executive order by the Mayor of NYC our Park Permit has been remitted. Even though there is plenty of space to be socially distant, we find that it is in our best interest to hold a virtual event this year as to avoid any altercations with Law Enforcement Officials.
JOIN US for a virtual of poetry reading by members of our community hosted by Bob McNeil. Everyone is encouraged to participate!
From 7pm We will have an open mic and this years featured reader,
Nathaniel Hylton
Underground Books will also offer a poetry chapbook creation station for kids 2-92 (select your favorite Harlem Renaissance Poetry and Make your own book!)
We will be offering a small tutorial virtually on how you can make your own poetry chapbooks and how to teach others!
Every performer will receive 5-7 minutes online. Please send a 3 line bio and a sample of your work to Bob McNeil . We look forward to rewarding everyone in the poetic arts to join us for the beginning of a new Harlem Renaissance. We can't wait to see what you have to offer, and look forward to hearing your poems on stage!
Please send an email to Bob McNeil to Sign Up Now!
