NEW from Mebane Robertson - An American Unconscious (Black Widow Press 2016)

An American Unconscious is a startling transition, having first been exposed to Mebane's writing in Signal From Draco, you
can clearly tell that this transition although turbulent and candid at times, is indeed a progression of an honest original voice.
The cadence lets you in and much like current cloud software, this immerses you into the airy redoubles, the soothing breeze
of a wall flower that controls in settings and frank interactions between characters, ideas, prosaic moments clearly captured
in ones memory.
An American Unconscious is a volume of poetry that gets you, gets into you, gets under your skin without effort.
Thus the breezy control of piece to pieces that under a far less deft hand would fall stories down, this does not. It embraces
the world of our current, doesn't ignore, or sideshow, but clearly looks for a healthy reader to devout, or even the sickest
of the sick. This is another great book from the people at Black Widow Press, and a book I feel comfortable and cool with
as I turn the pages in the subway, garner that special look from a beautiful girl, and its that same experience inside and out,
An America Unconscious is Mebane Robertson truly showing his craft, a simple touch to some of the most extraordinary small victories
of page.
